The city Council of Alcalá de Guadaíra, with a population of 72.458 inhabitants (June 2010), is located in southern Spain in the region of Andalusia. The local government led by the Mayor, is organised into three areas of government, each chaired by a Deputy Mayor. Each area has executive and administrative powers in matters which are ascribed.
- Area of Strategic Policies, including the following departments: trade, economic development, training and employment, education and innovation, culture and flamenco, events, wealth and museum, tourism and environment.
- Area of Land and People, including the following departments: land and urban services, fire and rescue services, housing, mobility, youth, sports, governance, equality, social services, and volunteering.
- Area of Governance and Evaluation, including the following departments: local administration and taxes, local organization and participation.
During the last few years, just like what has happened at national and European level, unemployment has become the main preoccupation for the citizens of Alcalá de Guadaíra, reaching the number of 12.162 unemployed people in January 2014 (Spanish National Stats Institut).
In order to solve the problems of unemployment, the efforts of the city hall have been centred during the last few years on the development of programmes aiming at the creation of employment and at improving the employability especially of those from disadvantaged social groups.

P2 - Cantiere Giovani
Cantiere Giovani was founded in 2001 with the aim of promoting a respectful behavior towards the other people and the perception of all differences as resource and opportunity to exchange ideas.
Cantiere Giovanni Is fostering new socio-cultural and educational opportunities at a local, national and international level. The purpose is to bring out the best in people, especially those with fewer opportunities: give them the opportunity to develop skills, take part to life-changing experiences, provide them with tools to realize their ambitions and hopes.
The organisation is composed by 7 full-time workers and 8 operators working on specific projects.
Cantiere Giovani runs the social center “Il Cantiere” in Frattamaggiore, aiming at fostering social inclusion and active citizenship of people through informal and non-formal education tools. It provides for school support to ESL (early school leavers) and adults in order to make them get school certificates. Cantiere Giovani organizes Italian classes for foreigners and eases their integration in the social tissue giving them informations, legal aid and involving them in its activities. Cantiere Giovani also runs a info job centre, giving assistance in finding a job.
Furthermore, it organizes information and sensitizations events, international mobility activities (more than 400 people involved from 2001) and is hosting/sending organization for International Voluntary Service.

P3 - Kulturatka
Kulturatka was founded in 2006 with the aim to facilitate the access of young people at risk of social exclusion to education and culture.
The main activities of the association are: the promotion and the organisation of cultural event of all types, the organisation of round-tables and debates with young people, the organisation courses and workshops for young people on personal and professional development, the promotion and training on multiculturalism and intercultural learning, etc.
The activities goes further than the national border as the association collaborates with organisations from other countries through programmes such as Youth in Action and Erasmus +. The participation in European project has enabled Kulturatka to learn from the work done by other organisations and integrates their best practices. In addition, since 2010 young people have the possibility to take part in cultural exchanges and training courses across Europe.
To develop its activities Kulturatka counts with a team of 15 people and more than 90 volunteers.
